Mail Call

Mail Call is one of the most meaningful surprises we share with our veterans during our missions. Just like the letters they once received while serving, every Mail Call delivery is filled with cards and notes from family, friends, and neighbors—each one a heartfelt reminder that their service is remembered and appreciated. It’s a simple gesture that carries a powerful message of gratitude and connection, reminding every veteran that their community stands beside them.

How to Participate

We’ll contact a family member of each participating veteran to help coordinate our Mail Call efforts. If you’re selected as your veteran’s family member, you’ll assist in gathering cards and letters from family, friends, neighbors, civic groups, VFW members, church friends—anyone who wants to share their gratitude. Once all the mail is collected, please place it together in one large envelope and send it to the address below:

Mail Call should arrive two weeks before the mission date. Please include only flat cards or letters—other items can’t be included in the veteran’s Mail Call packet and will need to be picked up after the flight. Mail can be dropped off at our office Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. We’re closed evenings, weekends, and holidays, but you can leave envelopes in our large outdoor mailbox and we’ll collect them the next business day. The mailbox is locked and secure; only staff can access it. 

Don’t Have a Veteran on the Flight but Still Want to Participate?

You can still write letters, make cards, or create artwork for our honored veterans from all branches of service. We receive a lot of “generic” mail, so please take the time to make your message personal and meaningful. Don’t seal or date your mail, and send it at least two weeks before the flight. To give everyone a chance to participate, please limit submissions to 50 pieces or fewer.

Teachers and parents—this is a wonderful project for students! Have them write letters or create artwork; make this a meaningful classroom project to thank our heroes and remind them that freedom isn’t free.
